Dog's Name: Tessa Estimated Breed: Lab Mix Approximate Age: 3 years Approximate Weight: approx. 45 lbs Currently Living at: Boarding Adoption Fee: $325 DOG'S DESCRIPTION Tessa is a super sweet, happy, playful, cuddly, smart, and outgoing girl who loves people and gets along well with other dogs. She's an energetic girl so she needs a home with fenced yard where she can run and play. Tessa has a great disposition and isn't at all aggressive but plays a bit rough so will need some training. Because of this, we wouldn't recommend she be placed in a home with very young children or a small dog. Her foster family reports she is progressing nicely with house training and learning some basic commands. She arrived to us with the scarring on her nose so we aren't sure what happened but think the poor girl may have been muzzled. This wonderful sweetheart is ready for a family who will give her lots of love and attention. Your new pet will require a refresher in house-training. K-9 Lifesavers strongly recommends all new adopters enroll their new pet into obedience training. This provides for an easier transition into a new home, ensures the dog remains well socialized, and helps form a bond between the dog and the new family. Adoption fees cover basic vetting, spay/neuter surgery, rabies, distemper/parvo vaccinations, treatment for worms, heartworm testing, monthly heartworm prevention and monthly flea/tick prevention (while the animal is in our care), and transport costs from high-kill shelter. Please note that on average, K-9 Lifesavers spend significantly more on each dog than their adoption fee. Adoption fee for HW positive dogs also covers heartworm treatment at our partner vets. Foster Program: Foster homes provide for the temporary care of a rescue until the dog is placed into a loving, forever home.
