Meet Dakota & Aspen! We call them the twins :)

They are 5 year old bonded sisters who have been life long companions.
The girls were surrendered to a high intake shelter when their owner found out she was pregnant. Huskies are generally so good with children, so we will never understand this rationale.
But anyway... being rescued by us is probably the best thing that could have happened to them because this is one of the worst cases of emaciation we've ever seen! Their coats hide it well, but Dakota only weighed 25lbs at intake!

Putting weight on them has been easy, they're good eaters and giving them smaller meals multiple times a day has done the trick! We feed them separately to make sure they each get their fair share. Dakota is now 35lbs and Aspen is 42lbs. We have nothing but good things to say about these ladies. They are completely house broken, crate trained and great with other dogs. They've also done will with the kids in their foster home, ages 8+.

The girls would like a home where they can stay together - they'd be fine as the only two dogs in the home or with other dogs. They'd prefer a home with a fenced yard and Dakota is a talker, so no apartments. Even at 5, they're pretty energetic and need a good amount of exercise or play time each day.

These lovies will make a great addition to any pack, first time husky owners included! Adoption area is NJ to GA along the east coast. Apply today!

~~Husky Education And Rescue Team is a foster based rescue. Our dogs are in our foster homes all up and down the east coast. We do not have a facility in which you can visit. We find this a huge benefit because we learn our dogs and are able to educate our adopters on what it’s like to have them live in your home. Part of our process, once pre-approved, is to speak with the foster for the dog you’re interested in. If you’re still interested in adopting from our rescue the first step is to complete our adoption application online at www.huskyrescueteam.org/apply
