Description:
Looking for that big cattle dog attitude but in half the size? Meet Short Stack!

Short Stack is a small cattle dog mix, weighing in about 18lbs and under 14” tall. He is about 8 months old. Short Stack is opinionated, energetic, and full of personality. He is still trying to learn about the world and may have lacked some socialization as a younger puppy.

Short Stack lives with 3 adult dogs in his foster home. He is overwhelmed by more playful dogs but can be a little too rough with older, calm dogs. Short Stack would do fine as an only dog or with a very social and tolerant dog, as he does not always adhere to the boundaries set by other dogs. Short Stack has not shown himself to be a cuddly or affectionate dog, tho that may change with time as he trusts you.

Like any young herdy dog, Short Stack has boundless energy and would benefit from continued training. He is willing to work for food and has been introduced to a clicker. He will chase toys but hasn’t caught on to bringing them back. He is working on being able to settle in the house and will need an adopter who is able to commit to keeping him engaged both physically and mentally.

Short Stack is a bit nervous and hand shy, especially with new people. Preference for a physically fenced yard, but other situations may work for him, depending. He has minimal recall and is not a candidate for an unground fence.

Short Stack is nippy and mouthy and tends to get nervous with lots of commotion, so no kids under 12 yrs. He has not met a cat in foster, he would likely chase and harass a cat who ran from him. He is being fostered in Cleveland, OH and is up to date on vaccines, heartworm negative, neutered and microchipped.

FindpetTM is a Participating Pet Recovery Service Registry for the AAHA Universal Pet Microchip Lookup Tool. AAHA provides an internet-based application that enables veterinarians, humane organizations, pet owners or other persons to search various Pet Recovery Service registries and identify those registries on which a particular microchip is registered. AAHA is not affiliated or involved with any specific microchip registry and has no relationship, financial or otherwise, with this Participating Pet Recovery Service Registry ("Registry"). This Registry has given AAHA permission to search the Registry's database in order to assist pet owners in being reunited with their pets. AAHA does not maintain a database of microchips of its own. It only links to registries such as this one. The AAHA Universal Microchip Lookup Tool only searches the databases of companies that elect to participate in the program.
