**We are a foster-based rescue with no shelter or facility to view our dogs. Our address is a mailing address only. Our rescue dogs are in various loving foster homes throughout Central Florida. As a general rule we try to limit our adoptions to within the state of FL. If interested in finding out more about one of our dogs, please fill out an application at www.4luckydogs.org, and you will be contacted by phone if your application is a fit.** Doc is a 10 month old Bernedoodle who came to us with Spinal Meningitis and who has been treated with meds and therapy at USF. He recently went back to the neurologist for a follow up and is staying on his current meds but have been told his meningitis is in remission!!!. Overall, Doc is a happy puppy with puppy energy. He loves to torment his foster siblings, play with toys, eat leaves and will also eat socks/underwear if not being watched closely. (Some close calls but he was not successful.) His bladder issues seem to have resolved. He no longer requires assistance with expression of his bladder. He does, however, tend to lose control at times, but usually only when he is excited. His bowels require cleanup as he is unable to hold his tail up and out of the way, as well as not having the strength in his back legs to squat to do his business. This is usually done with baby wipes or a hose. It will be best to keep his diet consistent. He loves food and is treat motivated. He has been neutered and we are looking for the perfect home for him. He may need to remain on medications the rest of his life and it is still unknown if the the meningitis will return, his bowel control will improve or he will ever be able to get off his medications. The medications tend to run approximately $90 per month. He runs and plays but needs to be monitored closely as he does not know his limits (like any puppy.) We will require a fenced yard (cause he loves his freedom in the yard), someone that can be home with him, take him to work or home low hours alone and another younger, playful pup. please visit the website to complete an application if you think you can provide him a safe and fun home.*The adoption fee for this dog is $400.00 and he/she will come microchipped, neutered/spayed, up to date on all necessary vaccines/rabies, heartworm tested and dewormed. Please apply at www.4luckydogs.org.***
