In Memory of Lad
Julie & Mike DeCarlo adopted Lad (AKA Lance), a beautiful & majestic English Pointer, Lab & Great Dane Mixed, from Joyful in 2009 and he lived a long happy life with them enjoying walks, naps, snacks and meeting new friends. He truly lived the life all dogs wish for. Sadly, Lad passed away in the summer of 2020 from continuous health issues and old age. He was 13.5-year-old.
Julie’s barn family & friends at Finger Lakes Equestrian Center donated to Joyful Rescues in memory of Lad. This donation was used to sponsor a rescue trip down south to save more dogs from a high kill shelter and give them a chance to have the life Lad lived.
Dale was born around December 16, 2020 and may weigh in the 60-65-pound range.  Dale is wonderfully sweet and affectionate.  The other evening as he was on his back laying on the couch between my hubby and me I noticed he has double dew claws on both back feet.  How odd....not all breeds have them so we are wondering if there is a little Pyr in there or maybe Elkhound....or.......we don't know at all, but also his tail curls up and around like a little pig!  Dale is ADORABLE and fun.  It has been a pleasure to live with him and get to know him, but as they all do he needs a home of his very own.   This all we know so far and we will be learning as we go and so will you! 
  Dale and five other pups survived parvo and are alive and well thanks to 306 generous humans who donated $22,250 towards their $34,917 vet bill. Update: A very generous adopter/supporter (wishes to remain anonymous) has chosen to cover Dale's medical care and has sent a check for $4,500.00! Dale is VERY grateful! As of 3/30/21 we still lack $7,980.00 to cover the costs of saving these precious lives, but we are getting there thanks to so many!  
 The Adoption Fee for this dog is $500.00
Adoptions fees vary based on adoptability. In general our fees include spay/neuter, all age appropriate vaccines, Home Again micro-chipping & registration, worming & flea control - a "complete" pet. We accept CASH or Visa/Mastercard ONLY. 
 
Joyful Rescues has no funding except for our adoption fees and miscellaneous donations. Pet care and vet bills are expensive - you must be ready to take on this financial (as well as emotional) responsibility.   YOU MUST BE AT LEAST 25 YEARS OF AGE TO ADOPT A DOG FROM JOYFUL RESCUES
 
 We keep our pet list as up-to-date as possible. As soon as a pet is adopted, it is removed from the list. If a pet is still showing, it is still available for adoption.
