Bronson is so handsome - a true Catahoula leopard hound, state dog of Louisiana.  About 7 yrs young and 50 lbs. He was in a great rescue facility for a year where he got to show his smarts, get some training, lots of attention and had loads of fun. We have worked with this group before and sometimes a change will be the magic touch. We've no doubt that Bronson can succeed in a hound-loving home. He would love a forever home where he would be the one and only fur baby. 
He loves to play ball. He can play all day long as shown in his four photos: 1) waiting for ball; 2) ditto; 3) caught ball, in mouth; 4) waiting for ball. He also brings the ball back to you, and sends it rolling right to your feet or very close.  Highly intelligent boy.

For further info on the adoption process, please visit our home page and check out the "Adopt a Dog" section, which has thorough instructions.  All our dogs are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and  fully vaccinated before adoption; they have been wormed, bathed, socialized, walked daily and much loved; each adoptee leaves with a leash, collar, and all medical records.  
Our prices are higher than the shelters' because we nurse the dogs through their illnesses and get them needed surgeries and dentals. We also spend time socializing. Furthermore, unlike shelters, rescues do not get financial aid from the government and must rely on donations, grants, and adoption fees. Our fees for adults start at $150 and go up to $750. The higher end is for our most in demand dogs, such as young beagles and other purebred dogs. The lower end is for dogs who have been here a while. For puppies, we may go beyond this and charge $1000. The good news is that, because rescues fall under the "charity" category, the fees for our dogs are officially donations and are therefore tax deductible. You can think of it as donating to a worthy cause and getting a dog in return!

Weekday appointments may be available.  We are a small staff and do our best to accommodate your needs. **Note that during COVID, we are not holding open houses on any day. Please email us for an appointment and include your application (found on our website, beaglesandbuddies.com, under "Forms"). Most appointments will be Friday through Sunday, though other days may also be available. We usually schedule one appointment per hour. Allow 1-2 hours for your appointment. Please look at our website and make a list of one or more dogs that you would like to see.
