Duke wandered up to a Texaco truck stop terminal in downtown Houston. He had a significant bite wound on the left side and the top of his neck. It looked like perhaps a big dog had grabbed him. He was not wearing a collar and ID tag and he did not have a microchip. Duke came to Emmy's Hope Rescue in June, 2020. Duke is a sweet, happy-go-lucky and affectionate little dog with people but he is hesitant and untrusting of dogs he doesn’t know. He prefers small, females dogs and tends to get defensive with males, particularly if they are bigger. After he warms up, and feels comfortable, he's ready to run and play. Duke is very curious and has a high energy level. He would do best with an active family that’s experienced with energetic dogs. Estimated birth date: June 2019 Approximate weight: 11 lbs. If you would like to meet Duke, please call or text Stephanie at: 281-622-6549. *** ADOPTION CRITERIA *** To qualify to adopt from Emmy's Hope Rescue, YOU MUST HAVE ALL 4 QUALIFIERS: 1.
