Description:
Please contact Kristin (kjpcjcrcc@msn.com) for more information about this pet.   Hello, my name is Xavier, and I’m looking for a home of my own. I came from what I’m told is a “hoarding situation,” so at first I was pretty scared of people. But being here with my foster mom and dad, I have learned over time (and with lots of treats), that people are pretty cool! I like getting pet on my cheeks and neck and back, and I love hanging out near the humans. Sometimes I still get a little spooked, but I’m a lot more comfortable with people than I used to be! It might take me a few weeks to settle in to a new home, but once I feel safe, I’m a really funny and sweet guy!        I also love to play! It would be fantastic if I could be adopted into a home with cats who also like to play. I love to run and chase and wrestle and cuddle with cats. I pretty much ignore dogs. I don’t think I’d like children because they are noisy and move quickly, and like I said, sometimes I get startled by sudden movement. I have a condition called FIV which just means that have suppressed immune function. It’s not a big deal and won’t impact my length or quality of life. I also have feline herpes virus which means that I sneeze a lot and have some eye discharge, but I eat probiotics in my food which make this less of a problem.    I know I’m asking a lot, but do you think there are people who would want to adopt me? I’m really hoping so, because I’d like to settle down somewhere for the long run. I hope someone is willing to take a chance on a guy like me.   Xavier is around 5 years old.  Connect with the foster via IG @kittycatclimbergirl   Animal Rescue of the Rockies believes that every pet should find a wonderful, caring home. To ensure each pet finds the best possible home, we ask that you fill out an adoption application form so we can learn more about you and your household. We review each application we receive and will contact you as quickly as possible. A home visit will be scheduled before any pet is adopted to a new home. Once a home visit has taken place and the adoption application has been approved, we will ask you to read and sign our adoption agreement form. Our adoption fees help cover the cost of spay/neuter, veterinary exams, vaccinations, microchipping, and foster care. Highly requested breeds help cover the vet costs incurred by some of our other cats, enabling us to save more lives! $250 for purebred/highly requested kittens, 6 months or younger, such as Siamese mixes, Maine Coon mixes.  These "guardian kittens" help support our rescue work by covering vet costs for other kittens. $150 for purebred/highly requested cats older than 6 months such as Siamese mixes, Maine Coone mixes.  These "guardian cats" help support our rescue work by covering vet costs for other kittens. $150 for kittens (6 months & under)    $75 for cats (older than 6 months)    $35 for senior cats (8 years or older) If you are interested in adopting, please fill out an adoption application  here . We want our pets to go to a lifelong new home, so thank you for your patience during the adoption process! Please email ARRColorado@gmail.com for more information, as we can not accept calls at this time. Our adoption process is: 1. AAHA provides an internet-based application that enables veterinarians, humane organizations, pet owners or other persons to search various Pet Recovery Service registries and identify those registries on which a particular microchip is registered. AAHA is not affiliated or involved with any specific microchip registry and has no relationship, financial or otherwise, with this Participating Pet Recovery Service Registry ("Registry"). This Registry has given AAHA permission to search the Registry's database in order to assist pet owners in being reunited with their pets. AAHA does not maintain a database of microchips of its own. It only links to registries such as this one. The AAHA Universal Microchip Lookup Tool only searches the databases of companies that elect to participate in the program.
