“This gentleman won’t let you be alone.” Percy is your perfect gentleman. He will make you proud as he walks nicely on the leash through the neighborhood and says hello with his friendliness and wagging tail to people and other dogs. His foster mom says, “Percy loves affection and pets and will take all you can give.”
Percy was surrendered to the Great Pyrenees Rescue Society as a stray. He was born around April 2019 and weighs about 69 lbs.
He is house trained, rides well in the car, will follow you, and lean on you. He can be a little food and toy possessive (easily corrected) and will growl if the cats come around while he is eating. He is not aggressive towards his foster felines, nor does he try to chase them. He can be a couch potato but does require a few short walks a day as he can get antsy if he doesn’t have a chance to get out and explore.
He would do well in a family with older, considerate kids and a large resident canine companion to play with in a securely fenced yard. He is an intelligent boy and needs a confident leader who is familiar with Pyr's traits and behavior. His foster mom says, “Percy is a very good boy! He goes to bed at night with no problems, loves affection, and eats his food like a champ.”
