Description:
Rocky is a very sweet boy with a lot of love to give. He enjoys every person he meets, and the vet has even commented on how friendly and outgoing he is, not shy at all like many IGs can be! He loves to sit on his foster mom or dad's lap, and tries to sneak in plenty of kisses! At 6 years old, he still has a ton of energy and loves, loves, loves to play fetch, tug of war, and sometimes just runs laps around the room! Rocky does well on a leash, and has accompanied his foster mom on 2+ mile walks on nice days. He is very distracted by other dogs when on leash, and can growl or lunge towards them, so he is probably not ready for social situations like dog parks. He loves to run around the fenced backyard and chase the local squirrel! His potty habits are terrific and he has been crated while we are at work without any issues. Sleeps in a crate by our bed at night, but also loves snuggling up for naps with his foster dad. He came into rescue extremely overweight, and he has lost quite a bit, but still is working on it. The one other issue that we are still working on is that he can be a bit of a bully to the other dog in our house when it comes to food or affection. He might growl, show teeth, or even snap at the other dog. He is doing much better, but it still happens from time to time.
The other dog is also male, so we are unsure if his behavior would be different with a female. He
would be great as an only dog, or he needs someone who is willing to continue working on eliminating that behavior.
