Invisible/ underground fencing is not recommended for most rescue dogs. Hello, my name is Pavlov. I am an incredibly sweet and gentle senior male mix who loves love!!! I may not know exactly what makes up my heritage, but I DO know that I am super easy-going and one of those go-with-the-flow types…I even let foster mom call me Buddy even though she knows that’s not really my name! I figure calling me Buddy makes mom happy and I like to see her smile so I’m ok with it…after all, my goal is to please!!! My favorite pastimes include couch snuggles, napping, lounging in the yard squirrel watching, (are ya starting to see a pattern here?? Hee, hee); eating treats like peanut butter and dehydrated beef liver…YUUUMMM!!!; playing with my squeaky toys, tug-o-war, fetch, and playing chase with my foster sister. I admit that I can get a little rough sometimes, but I am a great listener so if mom asks me to stop, I do. By the way, a fenced yard is a must for me because I love to run around, and it is MUCH too much to ask me to give up the freedom and safety of a securely fenced yard!! I walk very well when on leash and I’m even getting pretty good at ignoring the squirrels. I live with a super chill meowy thing that has really piqued my interest, so I watch her a lot and I am good with other dogs I meet on my walks and kids. I don’t mind car rides, but I am fearful of thunderstorms and fireworks…my gosh, why must they be SO loud??? Anyway, I am super smart too, I am crate and potty trained, and I know exactly what to do when mom says sit, stay, come, wait, outside, and no…I’m not crazy about that “no” word but as I said earlier, I am a good listener. My lifelong dream has been to find a furever home with a wonderful person who will love me unconditionally, keep me safe and who loves snuggles as much as I do. I was found as a stray in the streets of Texas and cannot wait for my very own home in Minnestoa.  If you fit that description than you need not look any further because you have found your soul mate. Love, Pavlov   Some of our dogs are obtained from commercial breeders where they spent their lives getting comfort from their canine friends. Others have come from various situations where they are lacking confidence in humans. In turn, most require another companion dog in their forever home in order for them to feel safe. If you are interested in a particular dog, and do not currently have a dog residing with you, please understand that your home might not be the right fit for many of our dogs.     ***Be sure to check your spam/junk folder as sometimes our emails end up there***    ADOPTION EVENTS:   Adoption events are updated as the foster home RSVP's to attend. Check back for updates on which events they will be attending. Please understand that all of our pets are in volunteer foster homes and sometimes "life" happens and the foster family cannot make it to their scheduled adoption event. If you are traveling from a far distance to meet a specific animal, please understand we cannot guarantee event attendance. You may wish to consider applying and setting up a private appointment. Private appointments are only scheduled after an application is submitted and approved.   ADOPTION PROCEDURE: The first step in our process is to complete an online adoption application on our website: http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/adoptionprocess/   Note: In most circumstances Underdog Rescue will only adopt within 60 miles of Minneapolis, MN.  All of our foster animals can be seen by appointment with an approved adoption application. Contact us at http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/contact-us/ if you have further questions.   FOSTER CARE: All of our animals are fostered in individual homes or doggie daycare facilities. While they are in our care, they are part of our families and given lots of love. We work on training, crate-training and socialization prior to adoption. Each animal's behavior is evaluated and we have a sense of its temperament and personality. We look for adopters who will give each animal the wonderful life and permanent home that he or she deserves. If you have an interest and ability to be a foster home, please visit our website  www.underdogrescuemn.com/foster-applications  and fill out a foster application.   NUTRITION: Nutrition is vital to the rehabilitation and life-long health of our pets.  All of our foster animals are fed a premium diet such as NutriSource, Canidae, Orijen, Nature's Variety, Fromm, Pure Vita, Stella and Chewy's, Primal, or balanced raw diet.  All adopters are required to continue providing premium diets for the life of the animal.   YOU CAN HELP: Not able to foster or adopt right now? FindpetTM is a Participating Pet Recovery Service Registry for the AAHA Universal Pet Microchip Lookup Tool. AAHA provides an internet-based application that enables veterinarians, humane organizations, pet owners or other persons to search various Pet Recovery Service registries and identify those registries on which a particular microchip is registered. AAHA is not affiliated or involved with any specific microchip registry and has no relationship, financial or otherwise, with this Participating Pet Recovery Service Registry ("Registry"). This Registry has given AAHA permission to search the Registry's database in order to assist pet owners in being reunited with their pets. AAHA does not maintain a database of microchips of its own. It only links to registries such as this one. The AAHA Universal Microchip Lookup Tool only searches the databases of companies that elect to participate in the program.
