RESCUING EGGY
Eggy wandered up on a woman's porch in Twiggs County, GA, trying to get in her home on a freezing cold night. The elderly woman was terrified of dogs and her rural county does not have an Animal Control. The police would not approach Eggy as they said he was being fearful. Luckily, our friends at nearby Macon-Bibb Animal Control sprang into action to secure the dog and Jason drove 3 hours, late in the evening on December 10th, 2019 to pick him up. Eggy is a special boy and he was lovingly named in honor of our founder, Jason's, late brother who passed away 15 years ago. Eggy was his brother's childhood nickname and his birthday is on December 18th, just a few days away from Eggy's freedom ride.
ABOUT EGGY
It was very apparent from his condition that some extremely bad things have happened to Eggy. He clearly suffered tremendously and we are grateful to be the positive start to his journey. Dear, sweet Eggy is Forlorn no more and will know nothing but love from here on out. Eggy was evaluated by our vet and has a long list of ailments. His condition was so critical, he had to undergo surgery to clean and repair multiple lacerations and have part of his tail amputated as it was down to the bone. Luckily, his bloodwork came back good. There were remnants of a buck-shot and bone fragments on his x-rays consistent with a gunshot wound to the face. He was loaded with intestinal parasites, fleas, and ticks. Along with the wounds all over his body, Eggy had pressure sores down to the bone. He was so thin and malnourished that his body condition score was a 1 out of 9. Poor Eggy suffered far too long from neglect and abuse, but to top it all off, Eggy had an advanced case of heartworms that have since been treated. His healing journey is one for the record books, but despite his condition, Eggy is strong, sweet, and wagging his tail (or shall we call it a nub!). Eggy loves his shenanigans and his favorite game is "keep-away," where he will merrily zoom around the yard with his Kong in his mouth, leaving the Palace workers to chase after him when it's time to come inside. He is looking for a forever family where he can keep on enjoying the good life of a beloved house pet. Eggy has been through more than we can imagine and he is not suited for a home with other pets or small children. If you think you can give Eggy the life he so desperately wants and deserves, contact us for more information!

FindpetTM is a Participating Pet Recovery Service Registry for the AAHA Universal Pet Microchip Lookup Tool. AAHA provides an internet-based application that enables veterinarians, humane organizations, pet owners or other persons to search various Pet Recovery Service registries and identify those registries on which a particular microchip is registered. AAHA is not affiliated or involved with any specific microchip registry and has no relationship, financial or otherwise, with this Participating Pet Recovery Service Registry ("Registry"). This Registry has given AAHA permission to search the Registry's database in order to assist pet owners in being reunited with their pets. AAHA does not maintain a database of microchips of its own. It only links to registries such as this one. The AAHA Universal Microchip Lookup Tool only searches the databases of companies that elect to participate in the program.
