How to Adopt

Russ is an adorable, cuddly, just turned 6 shihtzu.  He loves to run in the yard and snuggle in bed and charm everyone.  He is good with everyone he meets unless you are a squirrel or bigger dog!   He and his bonded brother, Max,  lost their home this August.  They are both looking for their forever home together.  They will do best in a home,  not an apartment or condo.  They tend to like to bark!  They need a yard.   They are not leash trained and can be a challenge taking for a walk.

Russ has had a history of bladder stone.  We just had it removed and he will need to be on a lifetime prescription feed that can be purchased from Petsmart, Chewy's etc to prevent its recurrence.

Russ is fully vetted.  He is neutered, up to date on his shots and microchipped. If you are interested in Russ and his bonded brother Max please contact us.  You can email us at RescueTailsAnimalWelfare@gmail.com.  We are volunteers an work full time.  We will get back to you within 48 hours.  We require home visits and as a result can only adopt in the Chicago metro area.

FindpetTM is a Participating Pet Recovery Service Registry for the AAHA Universal Pet Microchip Lookup Tool. AAHA provides an internet-based application that enables veterinarians, humane organizations, pet owners or other persons to search various Pet Recovery Service registries and identify those registries on which a particular microchip is registered. AAHA is not affiliated or involved with any specific microchip registry and has no relationship, financial or otherwise, with this Participating Pet Recovery Service Registry ("Registry"). This Registry has given AAHA permission to search the Registry's database in order to assist pet owners in being reunited with their pets. AAHA does not maintain a database of microchips of its own. It only links to registries such as this one. The AAHA Universal Microchip Lookup Tool only searches the databases of companies that elect to participate in the program.
