Description:
May 2021: Have you ever seen a happier dog than Rhett? We didn’t think so! He’s actually a bit *too* happy because he’s given himself “happy tail.” He has tested well with other dogs. He’s coming out of his shell a bit, and was eager to show volunteers that he knows “sit,” “shake,” and “down!” We love to see it! Apply to foster or adopt Rhett today!Meet Rhett! This handsome fellow was brand new to the shelter when we saw him. He was still adjusting to his new life in the shelter and you can see the uneasiness in his eyes. He did great with people and welcomed the love and attention. He was nervous around the other dog who wasn’t so dog friendly but did great with the female dog and wanted to play with her. He knows at least the sit command, possibly more but was too nervous to show us.Rhett has been at the Vermilion Parish Rabies Animal Control since 3/19/2021. He will be vaccinated and neutered upon leaving the shelter. He is Heartworm Negative.

FindpetTM is a Participating Pet Recovery Service Registry for the AAHA Universal Pet Microchip Lookup Tool. AAHA provides an internet-based application that enables veterinarians, humane organizations, pet owners or other persons to search various Pet Recovery Service registries and identify those registries on which a particular microchip is registered. AAHA is not affiliated or involved with any specific microchip registry and has no relationship, financial or otherwise, with this Participating Pet Recovery Service Registry ("Registry"). This Registry has given AAHA permission to search the Registry's database in order to assist pet owners in being reunited with their pets. AAHA does not maintain a database of microchips of its own. It only links to registries such as this one. The AAHA Universal Microchip Lookup Tool only searches the databases of companies that elect to participate in the program.
