Description:
Hi, Im Darcy. My eyes are definitely my best physical trait they are so expressive that it is hard to resist them. Sometimes when I sit down, I tuck my tail and it pokes out between my legs! I came all the way from New Mexico with my brand new puppy. He was fostered separately and later adopted while I healed from heartworm. I have been in recovery from heartworm since arriving in Minnesota and my foster dad is still learning about my personality and quirks. Now that I have been given a clean bill of health, I get to try all kinds of new things. :) I am fully potty trained! I willingly go into my kennel when it is time to relax and have no problem going in there before my foster dad leaves. At night I am a little spoiled and get to have the whole couch to myself in the living room. Sometimes I will even sleep on my dog bed if I want to change things up. I know how to sit and dont even need to be told to do it most of the time! Im working on waiting and coming when told. I get the basic idea, but have a hard time remembering when food isnt involved. I am also learning that it is ok for strangers to come into the house and that they arent a threat to me. I would love to take obedience courses, if it means that I will get some treats. I am willing to do anything for treats! I get to see my foster dads niece and nephew once a week and love it. They are three and one and love to pet me. Sometimes I get too excited and forget that they can fall down easily, but that doesnt stop me from following them around hoping that they will drop some extra food for me. Even if I dont get food, I will lick their face. I am very interested in the squirrels and bunnies I see around the neighborhood. I havent been allowed to chase them or catch them, so I dont know what I would do if I did. I dont live with any other dogs, but I have interacted with them. Ive met a young female Maltipoo and a senior medium-sized female Pitbull. I wanted to play with them so bad, but I wasnt allowed to until I got healthy. So far, I have liked all the dogs I have met. I think I am a little more dominant around other dogs because I always try to initiate play, but when they arent interested, I do well with leaving them alone. When I do get to play, I love to bat with my paws and can be a bit vocal. Here are some other fun facts about me:Why are you the very best dog in the whole world?I will cuddle with you all day or go on a walk with you. It doesnt matter what we are doing, I just want to spend time with you. Give me a description of your dream forever family. My dream family would spend as much time with me as possible. While not necessary, it would be so much fun to have other dogs in the house that want to play with me as much as I want to play with them. What are some of your favorite toys?I absolutely LOVE my Nylabone. I could chew on it for hours. Play all day or cuddles and snoozes?A good mixture of play and cuddles would be perfect. Some good play in the morning would tucker me out so that I could sleep and cuddle. What makes your body wiggle and your tail wag harder than anything?Meal time is my favorite time of day. I know when the food is being poured in the bowl. My tail starts wagging and I start drooling! What would your dream day consist of?I would love to go for a walk in the morning so that I can explore and sniff everything. Then I like hanging out with my foster dad while he works. Once he is done with work, I would sprint around the backyard a little bit, have dinner and then snuggle on the couch with a movie. Could this be you? A note from Save-A-Bull: Darcy has been treated for heartworm. She will be adopted with a vetting addendum as future heartworm testing will be required and those expenses will be covered by the rescue.
