Description:
Meet Lola! This gorgeous Anatolian Shepherd mix is looking for a loving and patient forever home. Lola was spotted as a stray by residents for days on end, but no one was able to catch her. She was very fearful and accepted the food and water left out for her but was not able to be caught. Finally, after tireless hours, a local rescuer was able to leash her. Now in a foster home, she has been gaining confidence but is still timid in nature due to being on her own for so long. Once with the foster, Lola bonded quickly. This tells us that she will bond strongly with her new family as well. We are still learning about Lola and how she will do in a variety of settings, but for now we suggest a low traffic home. She seems to do better with male dogs or dogs smaller than her. Of course, she would be happy to be spoiled as an only dog as well.

Lola is a deceptive 55 pounds with a beautiful coat and gorgeous face. Heavy coats are hard on southern dogs, so we would love to see her live in cooler weather. Her shy demeanor may not allow transport, but we are hopeful that that will not be the case for long. As with all our dogs, we will continue to expose her to new experiences and document her development, so stay tuned for updates on this beauty if you haven’t already fallen in love.

If you’d like more information on this angel, please go to https://animalaidms.org/adopt/ and complete an application. The submission of the application will prompt a phone call. Once we’ve discussed the pet with you and deem a potential fit, we’ll set up a meet and greet (either virtual or in person) at which time we can also conduct a home visit. If this goes well, we will verify your references, both vet and personal (if necessary). If all checks out, we’ll contact you to discuss further adoption arrangements such as transportation. Transport costs will apply on top of the pet’s adoption fee, which varies depending on the animal.

We reserve the right to deny adoption. Our job as a rescue is to ensure that the animals we save are able to leave their past behind and live their best life.

FindpetTM is a Participating Pet Recovery Service Registry for the AAHA Universal Pet Microchip Lookup Tool. AAHA provides an internet-based application that enables veterinarians, humane organizations, pet owners or other persons to search various Pet Recovery Service registries and identify those registries on which a particular microchip is registered. AAHA is not affiliated or involved with any specific microchip registry and has no relationship, financial or otherwise, with this Participating Pet Recovery Service Registry ("Registry"). This Registry has given AAHA permission to search the Registry's database in order to assist pet owners in being reunited with their pets. AAHA does not maintain a database of microchips of its own. It only links to registries such as this one. The AAHA Universal Microchip Lookup Tool only searches the databases of companies that elect to participate in the program.
