Description:
I’d like to introduce you to this sweet and sassy foster baby named Shelby. She is a 4 month old Australian Cattle Dog/Australian Shepherd mix. Shelby came to Friends of Rescue from a rural location in Tennessee where she was surrendered due her becoming sick with Parvovirus. The vet’s office knew she was ready for a home when she took out her own IV! She is a very smart little girl and is potty trained and crate trained. She loves people and really enjoys car rides. Shelby also loves and adores the older children in her foster home. She greets them with barks and tail wags. She is a very energetic puppy who loves running through the yard as fast as her little legs will take her. She is still losing her baby teeth and hasn’t quite realized that her puppy bites hurt. We are still working on that part!

While Shelby is currently in a home with several much larger dogs, we feel that it’s best for her to be the only dog in the home. She has shown signs of being overly protective of her resources such as food, treats, and toys towards other dogs. She is a rough and rowdy play type which may cause some conflict with existing dogs in the home. However, she would love to have some one on one play dates with other dog friends who are similar in energy level. It is unknown at this time how large Shelby will be as an adult but we believe she will be in the medium range. Her new adopter(s) should be willing and committed to seek continued training for any desired behaviors and/or behavior corrections. We recommend a privacy fenced yard for her to run around and play in. All Friends of Rescue dogs are inside only dogs.
