Description:
Hope is an approximately two year old, 40 lb, spayed and vaccinated female cattle dog mix. Hope came to me as a stray, found by some nice people who could not keep her. She has been in foster with me since April 2nd and is looking for her happily ever after. Hope would for sure be a foster fail if I had land and a place she could fully get her cattle dog energy out.

We don’t know much about her background or where she came from but she came to us a scared and timid girl and is now happy, energetic, and outgoing. She may seem shy and skittish at first going to a new home but with lots of love she will settle in fast. She loves to run and will need lots of exercise and play time. She will need a fenced in home with at least 5+ foot of fencing as she does have the hops. She loves to play fetch. She’s super smart and loves belly scratches. She goes outside to potty. She’s not big on a crate and prefers a home where she wouldn’t have to be crated that often. I haven’t had to put her in a crate much but when I have she does good. I leave the crate open for her to go in as she pleases but you will usually catch her snoozing on the couch. She is an attention seeker and loves for all the attention to be on her. When I leave the house she does great with the other dogs just laying and sleeping on the couch mostly waiting for you to get back. She sleeps on a big dog bed beside my bed and sometimes will jump up in the bed with me and sleep at the foot of the bed. One thing you will notice when she starts to settle in is she likes to bark a lot lol.. so if you don’t like barking Hope isn’t the dog for you. She plays loud and in general is just a vocal dog.

Hope is a loyal dog and gets along great with other dogs and cats. She would love to find her forever home soon, preferably with no kids younger than 10 as we’re still working on not getting her to jump on people as they walk in but she is getting better with that. There’s a lot to say about Hope as she’s just full of personality but I’m going to wrap it up here. We would be happy to chat with anyone who may think Hope is the right fit for them.

Hope is being fostered in Manchester Kentucky.

FindpetTM is a Participating Pet Recovery Service Registry for the AAHA Universal Pet Microchip Lookup Tool. AAHA provides an internet-based application that enables veterinarians, humane organizations, pet owners or other persons to search various Pet Recovery Service registries and identify those registries on which a particular microchip is registered. AAHA is not affiliated or involved with any specific microchip registry and has no relationship, financial or otherwise, with this Participating Pet Recovery Service Registry ("Registry"). This Registry has given AAHA permission to search the Registry's database in order to assist pet owners in being reunited with their pets. AAHA does not maintain a database of microchips of its own. It only links to registries such as this one. The AAHA Universal Microchip Lookup Tool only searches the databases of companies that elect to participate in the program.
