Im Shorey. Im such a good, sweet little girl. I love my human and my foster furbrother and fursister. We play in the backyard catching tennis balls and chasing squirrels. I stayed with a nice lady that has a cat for a week and we got along just fine. Belly rubs are one of my very favorite things. I know how to walk well on a leash, I know how to sit on command (especially if you have a treat). Im learning to stop and backup on command. I am a little jumpy around loud noises (vacuum cleaner) and surprise noises, but I generally just run to my safe place (crate or bedroom).

It takes me a little while to get used to people, but when I do I am happy and comfortable with those that show me love. I fell in love immediately with my new friend Madeline, she is 7 years old. We played catch with the water coming out of the water hose. Fun!! I havent been around a lot of men, I know I will love one who is patient and nurturing with me.

Adoption Process:


\tMeet the Adoption Criteria. Before you do anything else, make sure you meet our adoption criteria. You must be at least 21 years old. You must live within a 60-mile radius of Richardson, Texas. You must share veterinary records for all pets currently in your home and all pets owned in the last five years. All pets in the home must be spayed or neutered. If you rent your home, you must provide verification that pets are allowed on the property. You must be willing to be interviewed by an adoption counselor and you must undergo a home visit from an RHS representative.
\tApply. You can complete an application at an MTP event or complete it online by either clicking the button below or the Adopt button beneath the pets photo in the listings above.
\tAttend a Meet the Pets (MTP) event. This is a great opportunity to meet the pet you are interested in and see if you connect. We hold these events every Saturday from 1:00-3:00 p.m. We post the pets who are expected to attend on Friday evening on our Facebook page. For exact details and locations, view our event calendar.
\tHome Visit. If all the steps above are completed satisfactorily, we will set up a home visit where you can meet the pet you are interested in again and the pet can meet other pets in the family. We will try to send the foster parent so you can learn more about how the pet is in a home environment.
\tComplete Adoption. If all feel it is a good match, we will schedule the adoption at MTP or an off-site location. The applicant will need to complete the adoption contract and pay the adoption fee. Our adoption fee is $250 for adult dogs, $300 for puppies (under 1 year) and $125 for cats. Discounts are available for senior-aged pets.
