Olive is a gorgeous Miniature Australian Shepherd with eyes that will draw you in with their softness. She is 6 years old and weighs 23 pounds. She has captured many hearts here at our rescue and we think she will capture yours as well. Olive loves to play with other dogs and toys. She is calm overall and can be sensitive. She is also very observant. She is walking slowly on a leash and doing well. Noises can be a bit scary so she needs a bit of TLC there but overall she is a sweetheart! She relies on more confident dogs and needs one in her new home. They also need a 6 foot fenced yard to safely play in. She is learning that people bring her good things and is getting more and more comfortable with hands. She loves scratches and she will take treats from people. She will also approach people she knows for treats on her own. When she feels comfortable, she turns into a total wiggle butt! This little cutie is patiently waiting for her furever home. If you would like to meet her, please apply at NMDR.org and ask about sweet Olive. We dont think you will be disappointed! - - - - - - Prior to being rescued, many of our dogs have experienced minimal socialization. As a result, there is often an adjustment period when learning about life as a family pet. We typically do not adopt to homes with young children. Homes with older children will be considered on an individual basis. Common skills such as house training and leash walking will often take a little extra time. Patience, understanding and a gentle hand are a must. Many of our dogs will need fenced yards and a confident dog in the family. The great news is, most of these dogs come around rather quickly and being a part of their rehabilitation is an extremely rewarding experience.
