Sometimes we just have to guess on a breed of dog because we just dont know! If you have a newer iphone there is this cool photo recognition identifier and that program is telling us that this pretty girl is a Kangal Shepherd Dog/Blackmouth Cur and by gosh is you look up that breed she sure does! However, no matter what breed we decide to call her, we just call her crazy Katie!!!! Katie is about 2.5 years old and is just BURSTING with joy and love when you stop by her kennel. Katie was found as a stray and more than one veterinarian thought this girl was pregnant so we waited until such time that we could confirm and after xrays and ultrasounds it was determined she was not carrying puppies. But in the mean time we fed her as if she was MAYBE eating for EIGHT! LOL!!! Now our lovely girl is robust and squishy too. Katie is super with humans but seems to be selective about other dogs. We feel that her issue is mostly directed at female dogs and would possibly be ok with a male. We only have one male dog at the shelter currently to test her with and thats Damion who everyone loves! Our big girl is not a good fit with the feline friends however so a no kitty home is needed. Katie is a bigger gal and due to her excitement she may have a hard time containing her exuberance around small children. Katie walks nicely on lead, rides well in a vehicle, keeps a perfectly clean kennel, doesnt destroy her toys, is eager to eat her kibble (shes on a diet now!) and is quick to flop over and show her tummy for a good tummy rub! This girl wants nothing more than to be your friend and please people. Katie is spayed, vaccinated, microchipped and ready to pick her spot on the couch....hopefully with her head in your lap!
