Layla is 4 years old. She was originally a transfer from another shelter when she was about 8 months old. Her prior history is unknown, but she has lived most of her life with us. When she first arrived at our organization she was misdiagnosed. We were told she had Wobblers and that was the reason why she walked the way she did. Upon further examination, it was determined that she had horrible knees and hips. She has undergone three knee surgeries so far and is doing great, still not a perfect gait, but pain free. When her MRI came back, it was explained that her brain wasnt fully developed so there is a delay in what she is seeing until she understands what she is looking at. So fast movements and over excitement is usually too much stimuli for her. She loves to play and sometimes too much so we watch her to make sure the other dogs are not getting annoyed, and she loves her people. But can be leary around strangers especially if they approach too fast. She will get mouthy if nervous. She is a big girl, about 80 pounds. Great with routine and structure. Overall just a huge Goober! Such a sweet personality and so much fun.
