Mandy means "lovable" in Latin and she is absolutely a sweetheart living up to her name. Mandy is a playful one year old dog with a beautiful brindle coat. She loves to surround herself with toys. She is fine with both dogs and cats. She enjoys chasing game with the cats but will not harm them. She loves to play balls. She is a fast learner and already knows basic commands like sit & stay. She walks well on leash and is a great walking companion around the neighborhood.

Mandys ideal home is to have another dog that she can play & cuddle with. We have not tested her on kids. Shell probably do well with older gentle kids. Sweet Mandy has lots of love to give and will make an excellent family pet.

Adoption Process


\tMeet the Adoption Criteria. Before you do anything else, make sure you meet our adoption criteria. You must be at least 21 years old. You must live within a 60-mile radius of Richardson, Texas. You must share veterinary records for all pets currently in your home and all pets owned in the last five years. All pets in the home must be spayed or neutered. If you rent your home, you must provide verification that pets are allowed on the property. You must be willing to be interviewed by an adoption counselor and you must undergo a home visit from an RHS representative.
\tApply. You can complete an application at an MTP event or complete it online by either clicking the button below or the Adopt button beneath the pets photo in the listings above.
\tAttend a Meet the Pets (MTP) event. This is a great opportunity to meet the pet you are interested in and see if you connect. We hold these events on some Saturday from 1:00-3:00 p.m. We post the pets who are expected to attend on Friday evening on our Facebook page. For exact details and locations, view our event calendar.
\tHome Visit. If all the steps above are completed satisfactorily, we will set up a home visit where you can meet the pet you are interested in again and the pet can meet other pets in the family. We will try to send the foster parent so you can learn more about how the pet is in a home environment.
\tComplete Adoption. If all feel it is a good match, we will schedule the adoption at MTP or an off-site location. The applicant will need to complete the adoption contract and pay the adoption fee. Our adoption fee is $250 for adult dogs, $300 for puppies (under 1 year) and $125 for cats. Discounts are available for senior-aged pets.
