Fluffy was so frightened at first, but given slow and loving care, she flourished. New places will scare her though and definitely new people. She has come so far, but she needs the perfect adopter. A quiet home and patience will be key to gaining her trust and letting her love you. Once she does, she approaches for pets and meals and talks to you. She will need to be started in a room where there are not hiding places (a bathroom would be great or an empty bedroom, with no bed or dresser to hide beneath). In that space, you sit and talk and earn her trust before you open up the rest of your home. I went through this with her, and it was so rewarding to see the progress she made. If I didnt already have a full house, she would be staying! She really, really likes other friendly cats, I do not know how she would be around dogs. Apply to adopt to schedule a meet and greet with Fluffy. Her matching sister, Puffy, was similarly shy and was adopted weeks ago. Flffy is current on vaccines, spayed, has been microchipped, FELV/FIV tested negative, been given dewormer and monthly flea preventatitve. All Mountain Pet Rescue (Asheville) animals are up-to-date on vaccinations, spayed/neutered and micro-chipped before adoption. Contact the foster parent or Mountain Pet Rescue at pets@mpravl.org for more information. Please note that visual breed identification of companion animals has been proven to be unreliable, so for most of our animals we provide a best guess at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each of our animals as an individual and do our best to describe and place pets based on personality not breed label. Mountain Pet Rescue is a 501(c)(3) non-profit tax deductible charity (EIN 82-3039637) located in Asheville, NC.
