Lovely Rita - This sassy girl is very outgoing and knows what she wants. She is one of the more playful ones in the room, and thats all she wants to do! She can hold her own playing with her bigger foster kitten friends. She is adventurous and confident, not much bothers her! Rita is handle-able, and when shes worn out she wants to be held and cuddled. She could do well in a home with kids, playful cats, or even dogs. Lovely Rita is almost six months old. She has been spayed, dewormed, vaccinated, flea treated, microchipped, and has tested FIV/FeLV-. Shed love to be adopted with one of her eight foster kitten friends, or into a home with another friendly cat she can play with. Interested in Rita? Fill out an application today! Disclaimer: Lovely Rita came to TCR with 11 other kittens around the same age. Three of the kittens were subsequently diagnosed with FIP. FIP is caused by a commonly contracted feline coronavirus (FeCV), which must mutate within the cat to become FIP. FIP can have a genetic component, making some littermates more susceptible to succumbing to the disease. We do not know which of these 12 kittens are littermates, as they were brought in from outside at the same time and are all around the same age. They have all been fostered together and have all had exposure to the FeCV virus. FIP most commonly occurs in cats younger than 1.5 years of age. Rita is currently healthy, but to be overly cautious we would want to discuss the typical symptoms of FIP and what to watch out for with any interested adopters.
