Description:
Hi! I want to introduce myself. My name is Loretta. I am about 5 years old. Some nice people found me living on my own and took me to a nearby vet clinic. There I was checked for a microchip, but sadly, did not have one. So I was given all my shots and taken home to live with one of the vet techs. But, alas, that was not to be, either, and I ended up in a foster home with St. Louis Pet Rescue. I dont think I have had a real home before, so Im still learning how this works. There are lots of other kitties in my foster home. Most of them ignore me, but some of them like to aggravate me. That makes me mad and scared and I will hiss and growl to be left alone. And sometimes we even swipe at each other. So I think it is time for me to move on. I sure dont want to go back to living outside, so I am looking for a nice place with a family that will make me feel safe and would love to spoil me! I have learned that I like to have a comfy bed and a secret place to hide for a nap. Sometimes I even like to spend time on a nice warm lap getting some soft petting. That makes me purr! I enjoy looking out the back door on occasion to see if there is anything interesting going on outside, like maybe a chipmunk or bird hopping around.
My foster mom and dad say I am a pretty girl. Im whats called a dilute tortie, so I guess I have typical tortie personality quirks. I can be sassy at times, but I try to be no trouble. I always use the litter box. I never get on the counter. I am usually very quiet and mind my own business unless I feel threatened. I dont like other kitties crowding around me. For this reason I think I would like to have my very own family all to myself. A dog might be okay, but I dont think Ive ever met one and sure wouldnt like to be chased! I guess youd say Im selfish because I dont think I like sharing.
What I do like is food!! When I hear the humans getting out the food I come running, even if Ive been napping a couple of rooms away. And I talk really loudly so they know Im there and Im waiting...sort of patiently. Since there are sooo many other kitties I want to be sure they dont forget about me! Im not a bit picky, either. I like dry kitty food and all kinds of soft food. I almost always clean my plate and I dont bother anyone else when theyre eating.
Im still very shy and can be standoffish with new people. Its best if you let me come to you for attention. Because I can be sassy and am not too sure about being picked up, I dont think I would like being around little kids. I wouldnt want to scratch them, but I just might. I get startled easily, so I think a nice calm home with only adults would be perfect. I bet I could be a great lap cat!
I am up-to-date on shots, been chipped and spayed, so Im all ready for my furever family. If you are willing to open your heart and home to a sweet girl who just needs some time to feel safe in your house, I would really like to meet you.

Please call or text my foster mom, Denise.
