Sylvia is a very sweet little girl and melted all of our hearts. She definitely has a character, very curious and funny. But most of all she loves to put her front paws on your leg so that you pick her up. She loves to sit in your hands and get pet, she will rub against your face and lean on your shoulder. She is the most comfortable with a human and absolutely adores to be held, she purrs her lungs out in response. She does get stressed with other cats in the shelter so she would probably love to be the only child. :)

UPDATE 27/11/20: Sylvia can be spicy! With a right human she will be a cuddle bug, but she can be feisty and too playful with hands. She needs someone who can teach her to not play with hands and give her the exercise she needs. She is a good girl, but needs an experienced owner and she will be perfect! 

Sylvia is FIV/FeLV negative and is about a year old. She couldnt be any more ready for her new home.

It has been a crazy three months in the world but it has been thankfully peaceful at HAAL.
We have decided to stay closed to open public hours but will do adoptions through a new process. If you are interested in adopting please follow the steps outlined below:
Step 1: Complete an application online which can be found on HAALNJ.org and email it to HAAL06@aol.com
Step 2: Strong applications will be followed by a phone/ video interview when appropriate.
Step 3: A meet and greet will be scheduled after a successful interview.
(A meet and greet is not a guarantee of an approved adoption)
Basically we are eliminating some of the human face to face time at the shelter and preventing overcrowding of visitors. We believe this is the best way to continue as the country continues to grapple with Covid 19
