Description:
Hi, my name is Delacroix, a DMH female with velvety soft white and black fur with an estimated DOB of 1/23/22. I was a kitten that originally came from Roswell, NM and I was scared of human touch since I didnt grow up with much human contact. My foster taught me about love and gradually gained my trust with thoughtful, deliberate and patient interactions. I am more comfortable now with quick movements and noises, but they can still startle me. However, when I feel safe and comfortable, I LOVE petting (especially behind my ears), and Ill purr and purr. You can visibly see me relax my body with gently rubs. While in my petting bliss, youll see me roll over for some gentle rubs on my belly and Ill respond with air biscuits. I like Churu treats and Ill partake in social time with them and petting any time! So, here are my tricks: approach me slowly, let me sniff your hand first, then rub my ear area, and well be friends in no time!
It takes me a long time to feel comfortable in new surroundings and with new people, however if you have the patience and allow me extended time, my sweetness shines bright! I would do best if you start me off in a small safe room that has few hiding spaces. Approach me slowly at my eye level or lower, and visit with me frequently, being calm and gentle so I learn you are not a threat. Petting is my heaven and engaging in gentle play with a wand toy is a great distraction for me to put my guard down and will also allow me a positive interaction with you and gain trust. Think of this as a marathon, not a sprint, and take things slow and steady, and I know together we can win! I will probably do best in a quiet adult home. If you think you have the perfect home for me, please complete an online application as www.wbcats.org/adopt.
