This is Gertie, a petite orange tabby kitten, who is approximately 10 weeks old as of 9/17/21. She was born outside of an elderly mans home in Lyman, SC. We believe her birthdate is 7/8/2021. (Although it is possible she was born on the 7th or 9th since her mother had disappeared for a few days before returning with her kittens.) The elderly man had been feeding her mother, a friendly stray, who he affectionately called E.T. since her facial features were alien-like similar to a Devon Rex. After the death of one of E.T.s kittens, the gentlemans daughter took E.T. and her 3 remaining kittens to her home to care for them. At the time, poor Gertie had an upper respiratory infection and a severe eye infection that have since been treated. Now, that Gertie is weaned and healthy, she is searching for her forever home. Her foster mom describes her as a lap kitty--but playful like all kittens at this age. Gertie loves to chase the laser light and her little mouse toys. She has been dewormed, received all age-appropriate vaccinations, tested negative for both FeLV/FIV, and been microchipped. She is awaiting her spay appointment. (NOTE: Gertie is still in foster care while awaiting space in one of our adoption centers--unless she is adopted first!) OUR ADOPTION PROCESS: Please apply for adoption by filling out an application at www.FelineLifelineSC.org. Once your application is reviewed, a volunteer will contact you within 48 hours for an interview by phone or send an email. (Be sure to check your "SPAM" folder.) If approved, we will schedule a meeting between you and the cat to make sure you both like each other. Thank you for your interest!
