Bella is a sweet kitty who was surrendered to the shelter when her human could no longer care for her. She is very shy to start, but very gentle and sweet. She needs a patient person as she settles in and gains confidence. Once she decides to trust you, she will let you pet her, then she will begin to headbutt you as she demands pet, and if youre really lucky, after time, she may climb in your lap to be pet and adored. She likes to snuggle next to her human while watching TV or hanging out. It has taken several months with her foster mom to get her to this comfortable and affectionate stage, so an adopter must be patient and committed to moving at her pace.

Bella does look to other cats for confidence so would like a friendly cat who welcomes having her company, but she is a submissive kitty so no kitties who might bully her. She is too shy and jumpy for small children.

Breed: DSH gray with white markings
Age: 5 years old

The adoption fee for this cat is $170, which helps with the cost of routine vet care. This fee INCLUDES spay/neuter surgery, vaccines, and microchipping. If the animal you are adopting is not already spayed/neutered, you will be required to sign a contract legally obligating you to have the animal altered.

We are proud to partner with the following veterinarians who offer a free first exam for your animal, exclusively for HT adopters: Caring Hands Animal Hospital, Palisades Veterinary Clinic, Sunshine Animal Hospital and Clarendon Animal Care and all VCA Animal Hospitals.

Additionally, any VCA hospital will cover illnesses up to $250 at no cost to any Homeward Trails adopter.

You can save animals like this one by becoming a foster! Fosters are like way stations between high kill shelters and forever homes. We need fosters so that we can save cats before they are euthanized at the shelters. If you are interested in becoming a foster, please check out our information about fostering by visiting http://www.homewardtrails.org/foster-a-pet/dog-and-cat-foster-program/
