Jenna ACCT-A-119468 is currently considered urgent and at risk of euthanasia due to medical issues. Jenna must have confirmed placement with a RESCUE PARTNER by Sunday, August 7th at 10:00 a.m. Should Jennas medical or behavioral status change, her urgency and timeline for placement may also change. Jenna is an 8 month old female who was found as a stray with one premature kitten on August 2nd and the finder reported that "the mom is not walking and when she does she is wobbly and will not feed the baby. Upon intake, she was noted to be very sweet, BAR, and was allowing her kitten to nurse. During an examination by our veterinarian on 8/2, it was observed that she was presenting for ataxia and hind limb paresis, possibly related to trauma. Her kitten was also determined to be premature and unfortunately passed away a day later. Based on abdominal palpation, Jenna was determined to still likely be pregnant and she later gave birth to two additional kittens. They were separated from Jenna after she was not nursing them and went to one of our rescue partners. Jenna is currently being prescribed pain medication to assist with comfort during her stay in the shelter. She was spayed on 8/4 and as of a veterinarian examination on 8/5 was noted to have good appetite and had no significant chance in ambulatory status since initial presentation on 8/2. Since the cause of her partial paralysis remains unknown, she is in urgent need of more diagnostics, including spinal and hind limb radiographs. Jenna does not seem painful, but is in immediate need of rescue to perform the diagnostics needed and to prevent further decline in unknown injury and general health. Possible placement, interested parties, and other "TBD" statuses are not considered confirmed and do not indicate an animal is no longer urgent.
