The most elusive of creatures, General, has just now, after 3 months of being here, begun to take an interest in all the goings on! In those first few months, she spent her time hiding in the shadows of her cat tree, only every once in a while quickly popping her little head out to catch a glimpse of what was happening . . .and really only when Temptations were present. General came to us terrified of everyone and everything along with being severely matted and unable to groom herself. Every attempt to interact with her was met with an uncontrollable fear that sent her running or frozen and unapproachable in her pen. It was a hard thing to see. Little by little, however, we worked each day to ease her out of her shell and help her realize that we are only here to help. Nowadays, General is quick to say hello and offer a little chirp of a meow to let you know that she is ready for some rubs or a little brushing action! She lovessssss a good butt rub ??! While the hesitation is still there, General is more ready than ever for a furever family who can offer patience and understanding as she continues to grow more confident! General is spayed and up-to-date on shots! General still needs help with grooming, and has a benign abscess in her mouth that will require routine exams! We also feel she could definitely benefit from anxiety management with the help of medication as prescribed by a vet!
