You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Elvira is a one year old purebred German Shepherd Dog who came to the shelter as an owner surrender. She and her buddy Jason Vorhees were surrendered to our shelter after their owner fell on some really hard times. The two dogs are pretty attached to each other but we are not requiring that they be adopted together. Elvira is rather petite for a GSD. She has been vet checked and spayed and her fee is $150. Elvira is a happy go lucky gal who is eager to please, playful, and loving. It would be nice to find her a home with breed experience but were not requiring this. Elvira was very well socialized from puppyhood and has lived with other dogs and cats. She has also done well with kids. German Shepherd Dogs are highly intelligent, sensitive, strong, and active dogs and Elvira is no exception. She will require a lot of exercise, both physically and mentally. Elvira has received some basic training but needs some work on leash walking. NOTE: Adoptions are done via private appointment once an application has been completed and approved. Applications can be submitted at our website, mchs.rescuegroups.org. We are located at 101 22nd St. SE in Austin, right next to the airport. Its exit 180B off of I-90, right off of 218 South. We do require that potential adopters be at least 21 years old and that any resident dogs be up to date on vaccinations, heartworm testing/preventative, and spayed or neutered.
