Robin is sweet, a bit shy, and overall, just a lovely girl who wants to be near her people. While she’s not the cuddly sort, she’ll follow you everywhere in typical GSD style. Robin lacks confidence and is working to build her trust of humans. Snacks, snacks, and MORE snacks are a huge help with her trust of people, and she has the softest mouth ever when taking them. Once she trusts you, you’re her friend for life! She is ready and waiting to be your project manager for any task. She wants to know what you’re doing, where you’re going & is willing to provide moral support no matter what. Robin is potty trained, crate trained, a little nervous; but rides well in the car, is well-mannered at the vets’ office, and unphased by loud noises. She knows sit, down, stay & shake, is non-destructive and only requires very light verbal correction. She alert barks without like a champ so no need to worry about unannounced visitors, but it only takes her a few minutes (and a few snacks) to warm up. She enjoyed the company of an 8yr old who was visiting the foster for a few days; never missing a chance do some training (for snacks, of course), run zoomies in the yard, or chase a toy – not so much retrieving though! She can be a little pushy about wanting to play with the other dogs & tries to herd them. However, she can be left alone uncrated with other dogs while her person is still in the general vicinity. Robin has not encountered any cats, small dogs or livestock, but isn’t focused on the wild bunnies and doesn’t go crazy about the squirrels. She has been non-destructive in the home, and aside from checking out an uncovered trash can, she has excellent house manners. She even uses the dog door like a champ! Robin is looking for a family that will continue to help her build trust and confidence when around new people. She will need a crate she can go to for naps or when unsure as that is her safe space. With her desire to be near her person, she would be ok as an only pet. If you are looking for a well-trained, mature, and energetic pup who has the best head tilt when you talk to her then Robin is your gal! https://www.woofproject.org/application West Coast adoptions only, HOWEVER, if application is strong we may consider placement in other Western US states.
