Description:
Nakita is a beautiful 8 year old German Shepherd Dog. She is very friendly, sweet and kind and gets along well with most dogs, most of the time. She can be a bit picky about her dog friends at times. She is a petite 71 pound girl who is quite the princess and totally loveable.

She loves playtime, the kiddie pool and toys! She is social with dogs and people, she is a smart, very confident, observant, strong willed girl who can be talkative. She loves small dogs and walks up to everyone. She walks great on a leash and she does well on car rides. She really is a hoot! She is learning about people and hands. She is food motivated and takes treats from people. Nakita can be an only dog or she can go with other dogs with careful selection of a doggie friend. She does need a fenced yard with a 6 foot fence for safety.

This beautiful girl is ready for her forever home and we are excited to help her find her people. If you would like to meet Nakita, please apply at NMDR.org.

Prior to being rescued, many of our dogs have experienced minimal socialization. As a result, there is often an adjustment period when learning about life as a family pet. We typically do not adopt to homes with young children. Homes with older children will be considered on an individual basis. Common skills such as house training and leash walking will often take a little extra time. Patience, understanding and a gentle hand are a must. Many of our dogs will need fenced yards and a confident dog in the family. The great news is, most of these dogs come around rather quickly and being a part of their rehabilitation is an extremely rewarding experience. FindpetTM is a Participating Pet Recovery Service Registry for the AAHA Universal Pet Microchip Lookup Tool. AAHA provides an internet-based application that enables veterinarians, humane organizations, pet owners or other persons to search various Pet Recovery Service registries and identify those registries on which a particular microchip is registered. AAHA is not affiliated or involved with any specific microchip registry and has no relationship, financial or otherwise, with this Participating Pet Recovery Service Registry ("Registry"). This Registry has given AAHA permission to search the Registry's database in order to assist pet owners in being reunited with their pets. AAHA does not maintain a database of microchips of its own. It only links to registries such as this one. The AAHA Universal Microchip Lookup Tool only searches the databases of companies that elect to participate in the program.
