Have you ever met a dog that is the embodiment of confidence? Rae is that dog. She is a seven-month-old Great Pyrenees who is eager to learn how to communicate with her humans and has a desire to please. Her personality is booming with playfulness, fearlessness, and boldness, and she is highly sociable.

She is a lover and, for now, a lap dog at around 50 lbs (roughly the size of a full-grown border collie). She loves burying her head under your hands and snuggling anytime she gets the chance. She has regularly timed zoomies around breakfast and an hour before bed with a nap time from 10-12 am. She is compliant with going in the kennel and resting quietly there once she lets you know how much shed rather be by your side before settling in. She is excellent on a leash and nearly potty trained, with only occasional accidents in the house if the humans arent paying attention to her potty schedule.

Rae is easily redirectable with the puppy behaviors: excitement, chewing, barking. She also has learned commands such as "touch," "leave it," "place," and beginner training for muzzle and V-collar. Rae is great with children and mediocre with cats. She is very interested and will pursue if a chase is offered, then will fall back only if the kitty gets spicy.

As a Boss Babe, she exhibits confident (not aggressive) alpha qualities and would flourish in a home with a resident canine companion to show her the ropes. Her foster family is quickly falling in love with her beauty inside and out, so they are asking for quick adoption to ensure space remains available for other dogs who need a chance at being saved from euthanasia in Texas shelters.

PUPPIES ARE ONLY PLACED IN HOMES WITH YOUTHFUL, PLAYFUL RESIDENT DOGS WHO ARE AT LEAST 50 POUNDS.

Our requirements for puppy adoptions are simple and necessary.

\tOur puppies are not livestock guardians, they are family pets that live inside of the family home.
\tPuppies must be placed in homes with a youthful, adult resident dog of similar size. This gives the puppy a mentor and a solid foundation for becoming part of the family.
\tPuppies are only adopted to homes with someone at home at least part of the day. If no one is home for 6-8 hours at a time, please do not apply.
\tPreference is always given to those with Great Pyrenees experience.
\tApplicants must have secure, visible fencing and a socialization plan in place.
\tThe fastest way to be considered for a puppy is to fill out an application. Adoption is not first come, first served. GPRS and its fosters work diligently to find the right fit for each and every unique dog and puppy.
\tApplicants personal pets must be current on vaccines & heartworm/flea prevention and be altered.

Adoption fee: $450 (Adoption fee includes spay or neuter, distemper/parvo vaccines, flea preventative, deworming, and health certificate for travel). Adopters located outside of Texas pay the cost of transport to an independent transport service ($250).
