Lucy is a female “Alabama special” weighing in at 13 pounds and she’s almost 6 months old!  She was born on April 16, 2022 and is the second smallest female from her litter. When we say “Alabama special”, we mean that your breed guess is as good as ours. Both parents are strays and neither one has a single discerning feature that would aid in identifying their breed mix. We don’t expect Lucy to surpass 30 pounds, full grown. Lucy is good with everyone (cats, dogs, kids) though she is shy at first. She is spayed, chipped, vetted and ready to go her furever home … maybe that home is with you? 

Lucy is located in Alabama and being housed with a foster here. The adoption fee of $175 includes all age appropriate vaccinations, spay/neuter surgery, current flea/tick & heart worm preventative, and a certificate of health from our veterinarian (for transport required adoptions). You will also receive a copy of all medical records in a pet health record folder. (Transport to out-of-state locations is an additional fee, depending on location.)

Pita & Pecans Animal Refuge is a woman veteran owned and operated 501(c)3 nonprofit Alabama based rescue and all of our animals reside with us at our homes or with a foster. We are a 100% volunteer organization so all donations and adoption fees go right back into the care of our furbabies. We adopt our animals both locally and out-of-state in order to allow us to find the best possible home for our babies of all breeds and species.
