Still settling into her foster home, stunning two-year-old Kaya is understandably shy as she slowly recalls how to trust. The more she trusts, the more she emerges from her 40-pound shell, following her foster mom through the house and responding best when shes first scratched on the head and spoken to softly and reassuringly, before accepting - and enjoying -- gentle body pets. Energized by her foster moms own energy and encouragement, she now loves going for walks twice a day and running around the backyard. While shes very well-behaved on a leash, she keeps her distance from other dogs and people. She also loves chewing bones and chilling on her dog bed with her toys in her opened crate during the day, then sleeping soundly there at night. Motivated by love and quite fond of wet food, Kaya currently knows "down," "off," and "no," is working on more of her commands, and is almost fully house-trained. With much yet to learn and so much paw-tential, this bashful beauty now needs a nurturing home to gain her trust and win her heart, continue her socialization with people and other dogs, complete her training, including her commands, and ensure shes kept mentally and physically satisfied fur-ever.
