Description:
Naomi is a wonderful female Alaskan Husky. She loves being outside. She loves the snow, the rain, and the sun. She loves to play! She plays beautifully with other dogs of all ages and sizes and she has gained a lot of confidence from other dogs. She needs a more confident dog in her furever home to help her continue to gain confidence. She has been called both a snow angel and a sun bunny. She is a very special girl and her eyes will draw you right in.

Naomi is three-years-old and weighs 50 pounds. She has grown a lot in her comfort with people. She calmly approaches people she knows for treats, gentle scratches and affection. She has mastered the leash and enjoys walks. Loud noises do scare her but as her confidence grows we hope her fears will continue to decrease.

While Naomi loves walks, she came to us with two knees that needed veterinary attention. She has had TP.O surgery on both of her knees and is currently receiving therapy to recover from the second surgery. TPLOs have over a 90% success rate and we hope this sweetie will be pain free and happily running again soon!

We love this girl and think you will too. If you would like to meet Naomi, please complete an application at NMDR.org

Prior to being rescued, many of our dogs have experienced minimal socialization. As a result, there is often an adjustment period when learning about life as a family pet. We typically do not adopt to homes with young children. Homes with older children will be considered on an individual basis. Common skills such as house training and leash walking will often take a little extra time. Patience, understanding and a gentle hand are a must. Many of our dogs will need fenced yards and a confident dog in the family. The great news is, most of these dogs come around rather quickly and being a part of their rehabilitation is an extremely rewarding experience.
