Amy is stunning! She is a gorgeous Alaskan Husky who is excited about her upcoming November birthday. Her 9th birthday will be the first she gets to celebrate! This 47 pound beauty is ready for her new home. Amy is sweet girl who has a lot of typical husky traits including being fun, energetic, playful, smart, a bit strong willed and talkative. She is a bit timid but comes around fairly quickly. She will go up to people she knows and she takes treats from hands. She does need a patient new home who will allow her to settle in. This sweetie loves playing with other dogs and needs a more confident dog to help her grow. She also needs a safely fenced yard with a 6 foot high fence. She thrives being with other dogs but is really growing with people. She loves to be brushed and scratched and she did great with being groomed! That is awesome! If you are lacking a sweet silly and stunning husky in your life, please apply to meet Amy at NMDR.org. - - - - - - Prior to being rescued, many of our dogs have experienced minimal socialization. As a result, there is often an adjustment period when learning about life as a family pet. We typically do not adopt to homes with young children. Homes with older children will be considered on an individual basis. Common skills such as house training and leash walking will often take a little extra time. Patience, understanding and a gentle hand are a must. Many of our dogs will need fenced yards and a confident dog in the family. The great news is, most of these dogs come around rather quickly and being a part of their rehabilitation is an extremely rewarding experience.
