Introducing Iris! Like the flower, this girl is gorgeous! She is a 9 year old Alaskan Husky and like a typical husky, she likes to talk and play and can be a bit strong willed. She is a happy, friendly and energetic girl. She weighs 48 pounds.

Iris loves puppy parties but can be a bit picky about her dog friends. She could meet your dog to be sure they are a good fit or she could be an only dog, She does need a fenced yard with a 6 foot high fence for safe outside play. This girl loves toys! She is a very playful girl but also smart, observant and a bit sensitive. She is very food motivated which is helping her learn that hands are great things. She loves to be scratched and will take treats from our hands. She is learning leash walking and goes slowly but seems to enjoy walks. Iris is also a Queen and loves to lounge on her big soft bed.

Prior to being rescued, many of our dogs have experienced minimal socialization. As a result, there is often an adjustment period when learning about life as a family pet. We typically do not adopt to homes with young children. Homes with older children will be considered on an individual basis. Common skills such as house training and leash walking will often take a little extra time. Patience, understanding and a gentle hand are a must. Many of our dogs will need fenced yards and a confident dog in the family. The great news is, most of these dogs come around rather quickly and being a part of their rehabilitation is an extremely rewarding experience.
