Description:
Oh my is Shadow ever gorgeous! Blue eyes like Paul Newman, but with incredible mascara. Some think she would fit nicely into the band Kiss. She is a petite husky. She weighs 48 pounds. She will turn 5 on October 18! We hope her first birthday party will be in her forever home but if she is at the rescue, we will celebrate with her.

This girl loves to play, play, play! She loves other dogs, toys and the kiddie pool. She will play fetch for as long as you will throw the toy - she absolutely loves it! While she does love other dogs, she is more confident and she could go home alone and have play dates with other dogs. She does need a safely fenced yard. Because she is on the petite side, the fence may be okay at 5 feet. The adoption team will work with you to determine if 5 or 6 feet high is best for her.

While Shadow is energetic, she is also an observer who can be calm too. She is already approaching people she is familiar with and will take treats from hands. She is learning so quickly and food is a great motivator for her. She does walk on a leash. So far she has walked alone so if you do have another dog, that will be some training she needs as she is so playful.

This silly girl will make some person or a family very happy. If you would like to meet sweet Shadow, please apply at NMDR.org.

Prior to being rescued, many of our dogs have experienced minimal socialization. As a result, there is often an adjustment period when learning about life as a family pet. We typically do not adopt to homes with young children. Homes with older children will be considered on an individual basis. Common skills such as house training and leash walking will often take a little extra time. Patience, understanding and a gentle hand are a must. Many of our dogs will need fenced yards and a confident dog in the family. The great news is, most of these dogs come around rather quickly and being a part of their rehabilitation is an extremely rewarding experience.
