Opal is a sweet little Husky mix. She is about a year old and currently 35 lbs. She is looking for a patient, dog experienced home with a fenced yard, another social dog and older kids, Opal is playful, athletic, happy and loyal. She loves other friendly dogs and will happily romp around the house and yard playing chase, tug and wrestling with them. She enjoys chasing a frisbee and playing fetch with a ball. She likes to swim and will fetch her toys in the water. She likes toys and chewing on chewy treats and bones. Opal is crate trained, learning to walk politely on a leash and is housebroken in her foster home. She currently lives with other dogs of various sizes and does well with them. Overly dominant dogs intimidate her and have a tendency to bully her so she will not be placed in a home with a dominant dog. She also lives with dog savvy cats and is respectful with them but she will challenge shy kitties and chase if they run. Opal can be shy when meeting new people but has shown she will warm up with slow introductions and treats. Once comfortable she is bouncy, playful, funny and sweet. She will require 2-3 meetings with a potential adopter in order to feel comfortable. Potential adopters who are local to the Roseville/Auburn/Sacramento area would be best. She is an alert barker and needs a yard so no apartments for her. Young children would likely overwhelm her so no children under 12. Opal would do well in a home with an active, experienced dog owner who has the time, patience and willingness to help her adjust and feel comfortable in a new home. She will need another young, playful dog to romp around with and keep her company when her humans are away from home. She likely would not do well left home alone daily for long hours. Opal is a funny, playful girl who will keep you laughing with her silly antics and enthusiasm. She is a fun dog and a joy to foster. Please email right away if you would like to learn more about this dog......and visit our website www.siarescuers.org to learn more about our rescue group. Adoption fees range from $350-$450 for dogs. THE DOGS SHOWN ON THE SITE ARE IN FOSTERCARE - WE DO NOT HAVE A SHELTER TO VISIT. EMAIL is the best way to reach us.We are a volunteer run, very small organization - so please be patient when waiting for a response, but feel free to check back in if you havent heard from us in a day or so - thank you so much for considering a rescued pooch!
