My name is April and I am a three-year-old little lady who is ready for a home of her very own. You see, I came into this shelter this past Spring and my friends there named me April sincewell, they were hoping that would be my lucky month and I would get adopted. Unfortunately, that didnt happen BUT I did land an awesome foster home where I have worked very hard the past few months on coming out of my shell and learning how to be a dog! When I first arrived at DAS, I was a little shy and reserved - holding my personality in only for my close friends and I didnt have any yet but let me just tell you - being in a foster home has really shown me how to let my personality SHINE! Now that I have been there for a bit, my foster family reports that: - I am Housebroken: woo-hoo! I am the queen of outdoor potty breaks only! - I am Crate Trained: I like sleeping in there at night and even hang out in my crate when they leave me home alone! - I am good with other dogs: I like to wrestle and play rough so I would definitely do best in an active home where I can burn off some of my energy but I also am a well-mannered gal who will do my best to match another dogs energy. What can I say? I just think everyone should want to play with me and zoomies are THE BEST! - When it comes to kids, Im your gal! My best friend is a toddler who comes and visits me once in awhile. Im patient and gentle with kids but as always, slow introductions are recommended so we can get to know each other properly! - Im a couch potato: When Im not playing, I loveeeee lounging on the couch next to my foster humans and fur-siblings. Ill even let you pick the movie if you share your popcorn once in awhile! ?? - I like to play dress up! My foster Mom dresses me up in outfits and I dont have any complaints. A lady this fabulous needs an outfit to match, after all! - I recently completed heartworm treatment and am healthier than ever! I am spayed, up to date on all of my vaccinations and microchipped, too. - Good on a leash but I do have a tendency to pull so I can smell all the yummy things out in the world so I would need someone who is patient with me and continues to work on my leash skills. Im not opposed to a harness. After all, that can count as an outfit, right? Ohhhh, maybe it can be rhinestoned! - I can sometimes be slow to warm up in new situations. I am particularly hesitant of men at first but when I tell you that my foster Daddy is now my very best friend, I mean it! It took me a little bit to warm up but now him and I cuddle every single night. My foster Mom even thinks I may like him more now! Hehe! Dont worry - there is enough of my love to go around! - Im not a big fan of playing with toys and treats are just OK but want to know what my favorite thing ever is? Sunbathing! Boy, I love laying in the grass feeling the nice sunshine on my soft, beautiful chocolate coat. If I sound like the perfect girl for you, please apply for me!
