Hi! My name is Mailey and I am an absolute princess.  I am 10 years old and weigh in around 100 lbs (I could stand to lose some weight). Just like your average fairytale princess, I’m looking for my knight in shining armor to rescue me. You see, I’ve lived with my two favorite humans for the past ten and a half years. But, two years ago my mom and dad brought a baby home and life just hasn’t been the same. I’m afraid of small children and while my mom and dad have tried so hard to help me get used to this new life, I’ve made it clear that I don’t want to live with these tiny humans anymore. I need a new home with much older children or with only adults. I used to have a lab brother that I lived with and could do well with an older, mature dog in the home. But please, no young dogs. 

Don’t let my age fool you! When people meet me for the first time, they think I’m much younger. I am easily excitable and still have a lot of spunk! But that energy doesn’t last long before I’m ready for a nice, good lay down and snuggle. My favorite spot is on the couch next to my humans. Or even better, on top of them! I absolutely love to fetch and go swimming. I enjoy my daily walk too, but it’s becoming shorter as I get older. Most of the day I just spend alternating between lounging inside and sun bathing outside. It’s very important to get sun on your belly, so you might find me with all 4 paws in the sky!

I would love to impress you with some of my tricks! I know all basic commands- sit, lay down, leave it, etc.  And also some others- jumping on new friends or onto you when you come home. I love to say hello! Sometimes that comes with wet kisses, if you’re lucky. I’m also really good at letting you know if someone is at the door- I’ll bark just in case you couldn’t hear the knock or the doorbell. 

If you’re looking for your new best furry friend, one that doesn’t come with the hassle of crate, obedience and potty training, I may just be your girl!
