Say hello to Hilda! Shes a 2 and a half-year-old lab mix that was brought to us by animal control. Unfortunately we dont know much about where she came from, other than she had been on her own for a while. For a long time, Hilda was very shy and wouldnt approach anyone. It was until she had a litter of puppies that animal control was able to use as bait to trap her. Once brought into the shelter, she was able to show us just how sweet of a girl she really was. Hilda was a wonderful momma, and took very good care of her pups. Hilda goes out in a playgroup now with other dogs and does just fine. However, she is still reserved when it comes to strangers. But when someone she is familiar with comes to visit, she lights up with tail wags and kisses. It takes some time for her to come around, but with patience, love, and attention she will make someone a wonderful companion. Come and meet Hilda. She is a kind and friendly dog, quick to learn and make new friends. She loves walking and does well on leash. She is very affectionate and will win your heart. I am still available for adoption, but currently Im at Jeff City Correctional Center in the Puppipes for Parole program. I will be back at the shelter mid September.
