Meet little perfect nugget Dolly B. She is about 1 year old, petite at 49 lbs, perfectly proportioned with a shiny black coat! Like a miniature black lab! Dolly was found in the desert as a stray and came into SCLRR at the end of August, she is spayed, chipped and up to date on her vaccinations. Dolly is just about perfect! The 2 things her new family will need to help her with is walking properly on a leash and ween her off of “mouthing”. Those teeth are no longer puppy sharp and they will pierce the skin as she is very playful. Correcting her with a firm “no” and a toy to shift her attention will work well enough but she needs consistency. Dolly is house trained, use a doggy dog, she loves to fetch and runs very fast. She socializes well with people, other dogs, and she is good with dog savvy cats. We think she is a water dog as she loves playing in the hose but she has not been tested at a pool or at the beach. She will bark when she hears the mail man, the doorbell and other dogs in the neighborhood but corrects quickly. Despite her size, Dolly is definitely an alpha girl and wants all the attention. Snuggling and belly rubs are in her vocabulary! She had 2 foster families during her time at SCLRR and both times, she became the shadow of the lady in the house! Her new family should know she will be attached to the hip of her new Mama! Dolly can stay in the house with another dog/cat and she is not destructive. She loves car rides and she is crate trained but she loves to snuggle on the couch and at the foot of the bed at night. She would be happiest with an active family who will give her fetching and running time every day and who gives her a lot of attention and be home most of the time.
