Description:
This is Mazie (aka Karma), a beautiful 3 year old Lab mix, weighing about 75 pounds. She is mostly white with pretty tan speckles and spots. (We dont know what shes mixed with--maybe something like a pointer or cattle dog.) Mazie is affectionate and playful. Shes a big, happy girl and will do best with experienced dog owners in a home without small children or small dogs. She responds very well to routine and consistency. She will sit for her food and is happy to gently take treats. Shes strong and active--shed love to be an exercise/hiking companion. She gets excited when shes first taken out on a leash and pulls more than she should, but with routine and reinforcement, she settles down and should improve quickly.

Mazie enjoys playing with her foster-brother Murphy so shed like a playmate in her new home, as well; but she would do best with a dog who does not want to be the boss. She was house trained before she was taken to the animal shelter, but its been a few months, so she may need some help to adjust to a new home and routine. She has not reacted to cats in adoption fair settings. Mostly, shes just a big puppy who wants to play!

She is heartworm negative, up-to-date on vaccines, and spayed. Feel free to contact her foster home for more information at blairhsow@gmail.com. A home with a large fenced-in yard is preferred. To apply to adopt Mazie, please fill out an application here: https://humanesocietyofwilkes.org/adopt/application/ (Take care to fill in all the required fields, use "NA" as needed.) Thank you!

FindpetTM is a Participating Pet Recovery Service Registry for the AAHA Universal Pet Microchip Lookup Tool. AAHA provides an internet-based application that enables veterinarians, humane organizations, pet owners or other persons to search various Pet Recovery Service registries and identify those registries on which a particular microchip is registered. AAHA is not affiliated or involved with any specific microchip registry and has no relationship, financial or otherwise, with this Participating Pet Recovery Service Registry ("Registry"). This Registry has given AAHA permission to search the Registry's database in order to assist pet owners in being reunited with their pets. AAHA does not maintain a database of microchips of its own. It only links to registries such as this one. The AAHA Universal Microchip Lookup Tool only searches the databases of companies that elect to participate in the program.
