Zoeys Story: Zoey was brought to us last year on March 8th, 2021 from another facility. She was brought in with a severe injury to her neck, which was caused by an embedded chair collar and left a very prominent scar on her throat. We do not know Zoeys full history, but we believe she was a junkyard dog; left chained outdoors for the first year of her life with no love, affection, or socialization with other people and other animals. Because of her rough start in life, Zoey has severe stranger-danger. This means that Zoey can be very scared of new people. The only human interactions she had growing up were very negative, so we have been working with her in the year shes been with us to show her that not all people are bad, and not everyone she sees is trying to harm her. Zoey has been doing a FANTASTIC job with her stranger danger, and she now has many friends who love her very dearly. She makes an effort to show you just how much she loves you back and how much she appreciates your time with her. She is a whole different dog once she gets to know you. She is super snuggly (she gets right in your lap or leans on your side), she LOVES toys and is willing to share her toys with you, she loves showing people her belly and receiving all of the belly rubs she can get, and she is just all-around the most affectionate, loving, and goofy girl. Zoey is looking for someone who would be willing to meet her a few times in order to gain her trust, and for a quite home where she can receive the only-child love, attention, and affection that she never got growing up, and most definitely deserves more than ever. Would you be willing to give Zoey a chance? Do you know someone who would be a good fit for her? Please reach out and let us know!
