In another life, Carrie would be an abundantly-eared astronaut or would build her own pontoon boat and sail off into the sunset using her tail as her rudder. She was born for adventure and fearlessly dives into every new possibility. When we put up some new agility equipment, Carrie was the first one brave enough to climb to the top of a narrow bridge, grinning from ear to ear. She loved it! At 1, Carrie would be the ultimate road-trip buddy or wing-woman for your next big adventure. She is a free spirit who is up for anything to can throw at her. Unfortunately, doing the same-old same-old every day at the shelter has been frustrating for Carrie. Shes bored, and that frustration makes it harder for her to make a good impression on potential adopters. She plays nicely with our volunteers but can be a bit jumpy and nippy with visitors who are not paying sufficient attention to her. She knows how to walk nicely on leash but sometimes will get jumpy, in a look-at-me-look-at-me way. All of those are typical challenges that come with being a young dog who wants more out of life than living in a shelter. We think Carrie would thrive in an adult home with someone relatively active, who can give her both playtime and exercise along with activities that will challenge her mind. She would love to learn some new tricks and skills, and we think shed enjoy something like agility or nose work to harness her energy. Maybe the two of you can take a class together. Carrie is very smart and very fun. She would be so happy to find someone willing to put in the time to help her become the excellent companion and friend she wants to be.
